My interview was scheduled for 6 pm so I left my house around 20 til so I wouldn't be there super early. I walked in and again there were no hostesses at the door so I went straight to the bartender to let her know I was there for my second interview. She told me to have a seat and she'd get the manager.
I took a seat in the bar area and looked around. There were a lot more girls working and they seemed a lot nicer than when I went in last week. One girl even brought me a water to drink. Seeing them all made me doubt my ability to work there cuz they seemed so much prettier than me.
The restaurant was pretty busy and I'm pretty sure that one of the guys at the bar said that I seemed too short to work there when I had said I was there for my second interview. I'm only five feet and half an inch tall but there was a girl that looked about my height there so I dunno why he said that. Maybe I just heard him wrong.
It took awhile for the manager to come over to me. I asked if she wanted my résumé but she said it wasn't necessary. She reviewed my availability and didn't seem happy that I had only mentioned three days that I could work. So I told her I could work five days out of the week but it's just that I have class until after 5 on Wednesday and Friday this semester. I told her my availability was completely open for the summer and she was happy with that. She asked if I had any questions for her but my mind was blank from nervousness so I said I didn't have any. She then offered me the job! My orientation is going to be next Saturday because I'm already scheduled off that day from my job because I have to go bridesmaid dress shopping. That gives me just over a week to buy a nude bra, the white shoes, and take the liquor test and go to the police department for something to do with the liquor license. I didn't understand that part though.
I was so excited that I went straight to my bf's work and told him! He doesn't get that excited about things but he said "cool." When I got home, I realized that I forgot to tell her that I'll be in France from March 2nd-March 11th. I was afraid to call and look stupid! But MS told me I should definitely call and let her know. So, I called and she said that's fine and that I will schedule my training at my orientation. She said orientation only takes about an hour and a half.
I'm going to get the shoes and the bra tonight when I get out of class. I dunno when I'll go to the police department...that seems scary! But not as scary as telling my work that I quit...or telling my mom that I'm a Hooters Girl now. My brother and MS are going with me tonight to tell her. If I'm still alive, I'm sure I will have a nice post about that! I texted my dad and my aunt (my dad's sister) immediately as soon as I got the job. They were both super happy for me even though my Uncle apparently gave my aunt a very "protective look" as she put it when I told her. Hopefully my mom will be cool about this too. =/
I plan to write my letter of resignation for work tonight and then email it over to HR tomorrow and call my manager to let her know that I resigned. I'm not sure how that will go and I don't know what to put in my resignation. I am just a customer service rep after all. Dad said I should just say, "To whom it may concern, I quit!" and then sign my name. I don't think that's a good idea though. I might need a reference from them in the future! I wonder if it's like bad to just send an email with the letter attached? Hopefully not! I never work when HR is in the office.
And about those two exams I was studying for...I really do not want to see my grades!! =(
