Alcohol serving and bridesmaids

So I have completed one more item off of my list of things to do before Saturday's orientation. I have officially completed the ServSafe Alcohol training! It was a course that you take online at servsafe.com. It took 2.5 hours. I did half of it when I came in from work on Saturday while watching Back to the Future 1 and the other half when I came in from work last night while watching Back to the Future 3. It's just a bunch of little video clips that you watch and then answer multiple choice questions. It's pretty easy. I was surprised to have actually learned a few things.

Ex. Did you know it takes one full hour for your liver to digest one drink? That means that if you drink three drinks (one drink=1.5 oz. of liquor=12 oz. of beer=5 oz. of wine) in an hour, you only digest one and the other two are still in your blood. And I learned how to detect a fake i.d., how to cut someone off when they are too drunk, and that I can basically get fined or go to jail if someone does something stupid after I served them alcohol. Great.

The only thing left for me to do is to go to the police station to get my photo taken for alcohol serving I think. I still am not quite sure why I have to go to the police station actually. But I'm going to try to go after school and before work today.

I need to figure out something to wear for the orientation too. She told me to look like I'm ready to go out on the floor when I come in because I'm going to be trying on my uniform and they want to see what I'll look like. And I need to practice curling my hair since I clearly suck at it.

Apparently, the reason that I couldn't curl my hair at all when I tried before I applied was because there is like a knob and you have to turn it in order for the curling iron to get hot. I thought that if the red light was on then that meant it was hot but I wasn't going to touch it and find out! It was only on 1 when I used it...1 out of 26! No wonder I was only getting a crimp when I curled. And I may have been curling the opposite way of how I was supposed to. You're supposed to roll it under. I rolled one under and one the other way when I tried. I'm going to try to find time to practice this week. I am not looking forward to waking up so early to do it. I'm even more clumsy than usual in the morning so I'm expecting a few burns encircling my head.

My bf's sister recommended that I get some rollers and just do it that way. I think I might have to do that! It would probably be easier for me. Also, I asked her last night about the appointment for the bridesmaid dresses and she said they are really busy so the only appointment we could get is at one. My orientation is at 11:30 on the other side of town. She said just to head over whenever I'm done with orientation.

Hopefully I will finish early enough so that she'll still be there. It kinda sucks that I'll miss out and not know what's going on. Then again, it could be a good thing since the maid of honor absolutely hates me! If I miss it, that is one less day that I have to spend with her ignoring me, looking at me like I am an insect, and possibly leaving because I am present which makes me feel like crap since she is the bride's best friend.

The manager that I had my second interview with said that I will just try on the uniform and sign some papers and go over the handbook and that it should only take 1-1.5 hours. Nothing ever works out perfectly though so I'm expecting my orientation to somehow end up lasting like 3 hours and I'll miss the bridesmaid shopping which is the whole reason that I'm off of work that day.

Either way, it should still be a good day for me. If I miss the bridesmaid shopping, I don't have to deal with MoH glaring at me and making me feel like sh!t. If I get done with orientation and make it to bridesmaid shopping, I will get to play dress up three times in one day (yes I am including the whole dressing up for the orientation itself, I never get to dress up). And either way, I don't have to work at the call center. Yey me!

At least the bridal party won't be as crazy and out of control as in the movie Bridesmaids.
